Synopsis: The novel follows three aged, discarded Drenai warriors, Nogusta, Bison and Kebra, as they protect the pregnant Queen Axiana and her unborn heir from the terrifying Krayakin, demon lords of the undead, and the fulfillment of a dark prophecy. The prophecy states the world will fall into darkness and demons will return to destroy mankind and take over the world, upon the death of three kings, two of whom are already dead, leaving the third king’s sacrifice as the final ritual required to fulfill the prophecy. The story involves a desperate, high-stakes quest through a hostile world to save the infant king and prevent the diabolical forces of evil from utter domination of the Drenai world, the fate of which rests on the fading skills and unwavering loyalty of three old men.
