David Gemmell wrote and published over 30 novels during his lifetime, with a strong focus on heroic fantasy. His first book, Legend, was published in 1984 and marked the beginning of the popular Drenai series. Over the next two decades, Gemmell released numerous books across several series, including the Drenai Saga, the Rigante series, the Stones of Power series, and the Troy Trilogy, among others. His work often featured morally complex heroes, epic battles, and themes of honor, courage, and redemption. After his death in 2006, his final book in the Troy Trilogy was completed and published posthumously by his wife, Stella Gemmell.
